Mary Tipton

February 26, 1944 — March 10, 2014

Madison - Mary Lynn (Giesler) Tipton, age 70, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on February 26, 1944 to Paul and Ruth (Dymond) Giesler in Green Bay.

In 1977, Mary received her Master's Degree in Library Science from UW Wisconsin - Madison. Mary was a Librarian at Green Bay Public Library, Durham Public Library in North Carolina, and for 23 years at UW Memorial Library in Madison. She enjoyed volunteering at the Verona Library, Allied Food Pantry and Habitat ReStore.

Mary loved to travel. She traveled to Nicaragua with John Giesler and family. She went to Spain to teach and met Miguel Espadas and his family. With her husband, Lloyd, she traveled to Maine, Switzerland, Spain, London and Italy. She also enjoyed her yearly trips with the Magnificent 7.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd; two sisters, Jan (Rich) and Carol (John); her two step-children, Jennifer (Richard) and Nathan; and four nieces, Sara (Russ), Teri (Josh), Heidi, and Laura (Mike), all who were the loves of her life. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; and brother, Dan.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Glenwood Moravian Community Church, 725 Gilmore Street, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Glenwood Moravian Community Church in Madison.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors at UW Hospital and for everything they do!
