Mary Suchomel

Waunakee - Mary Suchomel, age 54, passed away surrounded by the ones closest to her on Saturday, September 12, 2015 after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. Mary was born on May 7, 1961 in Texas to Marion and Irene Thompson. She attended Waunakee High School and started her farming career at the age of 16, where she began farming on her future husband's family farm in 1977.
She married Mike Suchomel on January 22, 1979 and together they celebrated 35 years of marriage. In 1980, the couple had their first daughter, Heather, followed by their second daughter, Michelle, in 1984. One of Mary's proudest moments came in 2000 when she helped welcome her granddaughter Lexi into the world. Family was the single most important thing in her life. She loved her family and succeeded in her goal of marrying a farmer. She enjoyed being outdoors by her horses, donkeys and cows. She was a hard worker and could outwork any man. Mary loved her garden and would always share the bounty from it with everyone. She was loved by everyone she met. She had a big personality and always let her opinions be known. Mary's smile could light up a room.

Mary is survived by her husband Mike, her daughters, Heather (fianc�e Ryan Morehouse) Suchomel; Michelle ( fianc�e Josh Muhasky) Nelson; granddaughter Lexi; future grandchildren Zach and Caleb; her parents, four siblings, David, Danny, Willy and Kim; sister-in-law's, Cathy (Ray) Turner, Terri (Doug) Middleton, Regina Suchomel; brother-in-law, Peter (Michelle) Suchomel, special niece Jessica Roum; nephew Mitch, her dog Fred, other relatives and many friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Doris Suchomel.

Friends may join the family for a visitation on Thursday, September 17th at Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 County Rd Q, Waunakee from 4pm - 7pm. Additional visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, September 18 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am. A reception will follow at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave, Madison.

The family would like to thank Dwight, Dale and Brad Huston for their great business relationship and friendship, with special thanks to Nelson.
