Obituary

Mary Lynn Schaller, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 7, 1943, in Pulaski, Wisconsin, to Ignatius “Iggy” and Helen Baranowski, Mary Lynn lived a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and service to others. She married Albert A. Schaller on August 24, 1996, in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, and together they shared many happy years.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Angela) Sorenson, Barry (Mona) Sorenson, Denis (Krista) Sorenson, and Jodi (Greg) Sampson; her grandchildren, Zachary Warfel, Oliver Koster, Emily (Joe) Gozelitz, Benjamin Gibboney, Jenna Sorenson, Sydney Sorenson, Justine (Mac) Boehm, and Holden Sorenson; her cherished great-grandchildren, Eliyah, Isabelle, Henry, and Evelyn; and her siblings, Terry (Clem) Kafka, Janet (Leon) Ruechel, and Maureen Barnow.

Mary Lynn found joy in life's simple blessings. She loved fishing at the family lake home, quilting, playing Pegs and Jokers, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren during their summer visits. She treasured walks along the beaches of Florida, valued the friendships she nurtured throughout her life, and took great pleasure in thoughtfully selecting gifts for those she loved.

A woman of deep faith, Mary Lynn faced life's joys and challenges with grace, strength, and compassion. Her unwavering devotion to her family and her generous spirit touched the lives of many and will remain a lasting legacy.

Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Ignatius and Helen Baranowski; her husband, Albert A. Schaller; and her nephew, Michael Ruechel.

A mass of Christian burial will take place at 11AM on Wednesday June 17, 2026 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. A visitation will take place from 9:30AM until the time of mass. An inurnment will take place immediately at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery following the mass.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Sienna Assisted Living Center for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Mary Lynn. Special thanks are also extended to Nurse Amanda and the staff of Rainbow Hospice for their comfort, support, and exceptional care during her final days.

Mary Lynn will be remembered for her loving heart, steadfast faith, devotion to family, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
