Mary Rulseh

January 14, 1925 — October 20, 2012

Mary M. Rulseh (nee Pollock) of Oak Park Place in Madison, formerly of Manitowoc, Two Rivers and New Holstein, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 20, from complications of old age. She was 87.

Mary was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Manitowoc, daughter of Thomas and Susan (Chavet) Pollock. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1943 and married Roger D. Rulseh on May 11, 1946.

She was a loving mother to eight children and was an active contributor to the communities where she lived. Among many activities, she was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, a member of the Ladies of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Two Rivers, and with her husband a religious education instructor for high school students. In 1973 she spearheaded an effort to raise funds for a new time clock for Two Rivers Washington High School swimming events. While in New Holstein, she volunteered her time to read books and sing with residents of Calumet County Homestead Nursing Home.

An avid reader, she instilled a love of books in all her children, and she donated books and funds to libraries in the communities where she lived.

She is survived by her husband, daughters Susan (Paul) Fieber of Fitchburg, Ann Rulseh (Thomas Kasper) of Madison, Mary (William) Kindelberger of Beech Bluff, Tenn., and Margaret (Daniel) Immerfall of Madison; and sons Stephen (Marilyn) of Wauwatosa, Ted (Noelle) of Manitowoc, James (Darlene) of Salem, and John (Lori) of Oregon, Wis. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends of the family are invited to an open house in celebration of Mary's life, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the home of Margaret and Daniel Immerfall, 5421 Trempealeau Trail, Madison. A brief program will be held at 3 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of Agrace Hospice and Oak Park Place for their kind attention to Mary.

A memorial has been established in Mary's name at the New Holstein Public Library, 2115 Washington St., New Holstein Wis., 53061.
