DeForest/Token Creek - Mary L. "MaryLou" Rowin, age 71 passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 5, 2015. She was born on January 8, 1944 on the family farm in Vernon County, Wisconsin. On November 17, 1962, Mary was united in marriage to Roy Alan Rowin at Burke Lutheran Church. For many years, while she was raising her own children, she would help babysit the neighborhood children and others in the area. She worked as a supervisor for a furniture manufacturing company for over 24 years. Mary thoroughly enjoyed her part time job working for the DNR, feeding the trout at Token Creek. Being a hard worker was in her soul and shined through in everything she did. Mary treasured helping others and hosting parties, especially on the 4th of July. The Token Creek parade was one highlight of her summer. This was the "Biggest Little Parade in Wisconsin", where she was elected Parade Marshall. In her later years, she enjoyed bartending at the Paddle Inn. This gave her an opportunity to visit with her friends while she was working. Mary was an avid gambler, loved to travel and was a passionate Nascar, Packer and Badger fan. She had a heart of gold, would always think of others and would fear no one. Mary loved her family and went to great lengths to keep everyone together.
