Mary Lou Endres

Nov 8, 1932 — Oct 11, 2026

Waunakee

Mary Lou (Meudt) Endres passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Waunakee Valley Senior Living at the age of 93.

Mary Lou was born on November 8, 1932, to Carl and Arlene Meudt. She was raised on a farm in Pleasant Ridge, north of Ridgeway, and graduated from Dodgeville High School. She met her husband, Jim Endres, while both were working at the Esquire Supper Club in Madison. They made their home in Waunakee, where they were very active in the community and raised their family.

She worked for many years at the UW Hospital and as a waitress at the Innkeeper, where she made many life-long friends. She brought the strong work ethic learned on the farm to her work every day and instilled the joy of hard work in her children.

She also knew how to enjoy life. Traveling, camping, gardening, watching sporting events, and playing cards with her family and friends were some of her favorite activities. She loved hosting family gatherings, and her kitchen skills were legendary. She was an unwavering supporter of her family and loved following whatever activities they pursued. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou is survived by her brother, John "Jack" Meudt, her daughters, Jan (Joe) Temple, Carla (Glen) Roudebush, and Lori Sherman, and her son, David (Kelly) Endres. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) Roudebush, Corey (Martha) Roudebush, Joey Temple, Matt (Lindsay) Temple, Brooke Sherman, Nicholas Sherman, Hannah Endres, and Grace Endres, and her precious great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Kaiya, Lincoln, Easton, Charlotte, and Isla.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Arlene Meudt, her husband, Jim Endres, her brother, Wendell (Toby) Meudt, her sisters, Dolores (Tom) Heibel and Jean (Don) Larson, her in-laws, Lois (Francis) McMillen, Charlene (Marv) Unger, Frankie (Judy) Endres, and Mary Ann Anderson, a niece, Marge Dresen, and nephews, Scott and James McMillen, and Tim Larson.
