Mary Kopp, age 95, of Waunakee, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Waunakee Valley Senior Living. She was born on the family farm on Sept. 23, 1930 to Joseph and Rose (Meffert) Kopp.

Mary liked to keep busy and enjoyed crafting. She was especially known for working on her loom and weaving beautiful rugs. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, working with stained glass and embroidery, where she often made her own designs. Mary often kept busy by helping at Valley Senior Living. She presented the “morning report” over the public address system and read the daily weather report, meal menus, and scheduled activities for the day.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Doris Dahmen and Kathy (Larry) Thornton; her sister-in-law, Shirley Kopp; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joella (Carl) Endres; brothers, Don (Catherine), Joe (Marcey), and Bob; sister-in-law, Julie Dahmen Kopp; brother-in-law, Clarence Dahmen; and her nephews, Mark Thornton, Jerry Kopp and Paul Kopp.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church 209 South St Waunakee. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
