Cambridge- Mary J. Hommen, age 43, of Cambridge passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 15, 2015 at her home. She was born on April 13, 1972 in Orange County, CA, the daughter of William Evans and Bonnie Moss.
She married Bill Hommen on July 10, 1993 at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church in Deerfield. Mary graduated from Cambridge High School. She was the optical manager for Shopko Department Store. Mary's true passion and love in life was her family. She was a dedicated volunteer and supporter of the Cambridge baseball program; she was the biggest fan to all of the players especially to her two boys. She loved nothing more than being a wife and mother. She loved all Wisconsin sports and loved to vocalize her support. Mary will always be remembered as the kindest and most giving person; even in her death she was able to donate her organs to help others.
Mary is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Billy and Sam; mother, Bonnie Moss; father, William Evans; brothers, David (Kamie) Evans, Joe (Jana) Evans and Don (Rachel) Evans; Grandfather, Robert Moss; Mother-in-Law, Gerry Hommen; Sister-In-Law, Donna (Daryl) Rahn; Brothers'-In-Law, Duane (Linda) Hommen, Ron (Wendy) Hommen, Rick (Luann) Hommen, Randy (Kathy) Hommen and Bob Hommen; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jean Moss; grandfather, William Evans, Sr.; grandmother, June Zoelezzi; and father-in-law, Rodger Hommen.
A funeral service will be held on at ST. PAUL'S LIBERTY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3494 Oak Park Road, Deerfield on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 201 Bue Street, Deerfield and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Badger Bank in Cambridge for "The Boys".
Bill would like to thank the Cambridge Fire Department and the Dane County Sherriff's Department and Rescue Squads for their efforts and a special thank you to Bonnie Moss and Jana Evans for their love, kindness and help during this difficult time.
