Mary Hansen

Madison - Mary A. Hansen, age 97, died on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Waunakee Manor in Waunakee. She was born on August 22, 1915 in Sun Prairie, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Wavra) Bennesh. Mary was united in marriage with Orvin Hansen on July 25, 1936. She worked for the State of Wisconsin in the Bureau of Finance for 34 years. She was a big Packer and Badger fan and enjoyed reading mystery novels.
Mary is survived by her son, Rolf (Audrey) Hansen of Madison; a brother, Martin (Beverly) Smith of Fountain Hills, AZ; a sister-in-law, Edna Smith of Cottage Grove; a brother-in-law, Charles Cattaneo of Scottsdale, AZ; many nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, Irving Smith Sr., her husband, Orvin, sister, Lorraine Cattaneo, brothers, Irving Smith Jr. and John Smith, younger sisters, Jean and Janet Smith.
A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Avenue, on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Madison. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
