Mrs. Robert H. (Mary) Branstetter, age 92 passed away on August 6, 2013. The former Mary M. Gille of Darlington, Wisconsin was born on December 8, 1920. She graduated from Holy Rosary School, Darlington, Wisconsin in 1934 and the Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque, Iowa in 1938. She held a Bachelors of Science Degree from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She taught in public schools in Gratiot, Watertown, Kenosha, Mineral Point, Lake Geneva, Oconomowoc, Madison, and Marshall until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Anna and William Gille, and her brother Paul.
She is survived by her three children, William J. Branstetter of Madison, Wisconsin, Pamela M. Branstetter of New York City, New York, and Steven E. Branstetter of Los Angeles, California. Eight grandchildren Robert W. Brastetter, of Phoenix, Arizona, William J. Branstetter, of Los Angeles, California, Bryan J. Branstetter, of San Diego, California, Elizabeth J. Branstetter, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Stephanie A. Branstetter and Courtney M. Branstetter of Madison, Wisconsin, Kelsey and Griffin Branstetter of Los Angeles, California. Eight great grandchildren, Lauren, Robert, and Haleigh Branstetter, of Phoenix, Arizona, Gregory and Amari Hampton, Larry Dent, Delon Waller, Jackson Charles Prindiville all of Madison, Wisconsin, Bradley Branstetter of Los Angeles, California and adopted daughter Kate Valleys of Bogot�, Columbia and also six nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and is Rosary Alter Society. Grand Order of St. Dominic, Blessed Sacrament Prayer Chain, Madison Catholic Women's Circle, Immaculate Conception Academy, and Mount Mary College Alumni, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and Retired Teachers Association, Madison Business and Professional Women, past member of the Wisconsin Education Association. She served on the Blessed Sacrament Church Decorating Committee, the Rosary Alter Society Board and past member of the Parish Council and served as minister to the homebound.
Funeral Services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church at 2115 Rowley Ave, Madison, Wisconsin 53705 on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11 AM.
Memorials may be made to Christian Children's Foundation, Food for the Good, or St Mary's Hospital Pediatric Unit for abused children. She will be remember by her many friends and all who knew her as an exceptionally strong woman who accepted her many hardships and trials throughout her life with great strength and dignity. She had a special place in her heart for all children, especially the poor and neglected and abused.
