Obituary

Mary L. Bourne, 86, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026.

Mary, who was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and later lived in New Jersey, North Carolina’s Outer Banks, and most recently, Florida, lived a life rooted in learning, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education and Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin and went on to build a meaningful career as an Educational Learning Consultant, where she helped guide and support others in their academic journeys. She later worked as a Real Estate Agent, bringing the same care and dedication to helping people find their homes.

A woman of many talents, Mary was a gifted musician who found joy in playing the piano, guitar, and violin, and in singing. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and had a special love for flowers, finding beauty in both nature and the things she created with her hands. Mary and her beloved David loved their home and spent many cozy evenings watching Jeopardy and movies.

Above all, Mary cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband David M. Bourne, who she was with for over 40 years, children, Beth Mulvan (Brian), Daniel Shulman, and Jonathan Shulman (Ngan Nguyen), stepchildren, David L. Bourne (Kim), Mark Bourne (Anne) and their families; and her grandchildren, Matthew Dello Buono (Jillian), Ryan Dello Buono, Khai Shulman, Ai Vy Shulman, and Luu Ly Shulman and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avis and Victor Anderson; her sister, Patricia Mair (Tom); her brother, John Anderson (June), nephew Jeffrey Anderson (Jennifer) and niece Joy Anderson.

Mary’s warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her children and grandchildren will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
