Obituary

Mary Ann Rehberg, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. She was born on August 4, 1932, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Harvey and Mildred Tenpas.

Mary Ann received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and soon after married Richard Rehberg. They traveled extensively, both within the United States and throughout the world. Together, they settled in Madison in 1964, where she was an active Wisconsin alumna and passionate sports fan with season tickets to Wisconsin Badger football games.

Mary Ann volunteered with numerous organizations throughout her life, including UW Hospital, United Way, and American Girl, among others. She was a phenomenal cook and a gracious hostess. An avid bike rider in her later years, she had many other hobbies, including reading, scuba diving, knitting & needlepoint.

Survived by son, Michael; daughter, Sandi (Mark) Sutter; grandchildren, Sam (Katie) and Jeff (Chrissy) Rehberg, and Ben (Theresa), Chris (Leah), and Lindsay Bryan; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Calvin, Brantley, Theodore, Oliver, and Harrison; sister, Jo Ann Staedter, and nieces and nephew.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard, sister, Beverly (Paul) Kroening, brother-in-law, Ed Staedter, and daughter-in-law, Cherie Rehberg
