Marvin C. Frisch, age 80, of Madison, died on May 20, 2015. He was born in Madison on July 10, 1934, the son of Louis and Sibylla (Maly) Frisch. He married Alice Schoeberle on July 4, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Janesville, WI.
Marvin served during the Korean War at Yokota AFB in Japan. He worked at Parker Pen in Janesville, WI for 10 years as Service Department Manager. He was then employed by the City of Madison, retiring after 18 years as Systems and Program Manager. Marv and Alice became snowbirds, spending winters in Florida and summers in Madison. Marvin enjoyed cruising, playing cards, fishing, gardening and exercising. He especially enjoyed his "vino tinto" (red wine) happy hour with the family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Edwin and Donald. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice; children Debra (Jordan) Mann, Stephen (Catherine) Frisch, Diane (Bruce) Schewe, Julie (Brian) Cortez, Janet (John) Gaedke, and Jeffrey Frisch; brothers David, Daniel (Kathy), and Michael (Patty), sister Lavonne (Ray) Kadrmas, sister-in-law Rosie Frisch; brothers-in-law Bill (Karen) Schoeberle, Ray (Patricia) Schoeberle, Henry Schoeberle, sisters-in-law Mary Alberts, Geraldine Kerrigan, Dorothy (Jim) McNally and Mary Schoeberle; 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Dr, Madison. Visitation will at at the church 9:30 am until the time of services at 11:00 am. Fr. Bart Timmerman will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Internment will occur at a later date at Resurrection Mausoleum.
