Martha J. Kepke

MADISON- Martha J. ""Marty"" Kepke, age 87, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 16, 2009, while in Knoxville, TN. She was born October 30, 1921, in Cambridge, OH and was a resident of Madison for 55 years. Martha graduated from the Bethesda School of Nursing in Zanesville, Ohio and became a registered nurse in 1942. During World War II she served as a Lieutenant in the Army as a nurse. For 27 years she was the head nurse at Oscar Mayer; retiring in 1987. Martha was a member of Luther Memorial Church in Madison, as well as a member of the Madison Civic Club, the Oscarettes, Madison Municipal Golf League, Oscar Mayer Golf League, and S.A.S. ( Sports for Active Seniors). Martha is survived by her children: John Kepke of Taylor, MI, Jeri Dunn of Dandridge, TN, and Beverly Denrutter of Madison; sister, Helen James of Cambridge, OH; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2009, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, with a visitation starting at 12:00 PM. Inurnment with full military honors will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
