MADISON - Martha E. "Marti" Dishowitz, passed away at 58, on Wed. August 31, 2016 at her home. She was born April 24, 1958 in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of David and Pauline (Harris) Knoerr. Marti grew up in Janesville, was a 1976 graduate of Janesville Craig High School. She also earned her BBA from UW Whitewater in 1983. As a teen, she spent her summers at the family cottage on Lake Redstone. The cabin was one of Marti's favorite places, and later she purchased it, and served on the Board of the Lake Redstone Home Owner's Association. Marti married Ralph Dishowitz on Sept. 3, 1988 in Madison. She spent most of her professional career working in the insurance industry. She held positions as a Product Manager for Sentry Insurance, and Assistant Vice-President of QBE North America, and as an analyst for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board. Marti was very generous with her time, including volunteering with Independent Living delivering Meals-on-Wheels. She also did charitable work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, raising thousands of dollars and was nominated by the Society as Woman of the Year.
Marti is survived by her husband Ralph Dishowitz; mother Pauline Knoerr; brother Mark (Diane Mintz) Knoerr, sister Susan (Duane) Benedict; 4 nieces and nephews Ursula Stoller, Amy (Jerry) Denson, Craig (Sarah) Benedict, and Cyndi (Jason) Hanson; and 6 great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her father David Knoerr.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday Sept. 3, 2016 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd. with Rev. Dan Decker presiding. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace for the love and care given to Marti, and the support to her family, and would also like to thank Sue Osmond, a dear friend, who helped care for Marti in her final days.
