Obituary

Marlene J. Redman (Wielgosh), age 90, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Oakwood Village in Madison, Wisconsin. She was born on March 30, 1936, in Princeton, Wisconsin, to Siegmund and Regina (Kwiatkowski) Wielgosh.

After attending high school in Princeton, Marlene earned her teaching degree from Oshkosh State College (now the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh) in 1958, where she was a member of Gamma Sigma Sorority. She became an accomplished elementary school teacher, serving students in Appleton, Waupun, and Sun Prairie. Beloved by her students, Marlene took great pride in her career and felt blessed to work alongside many excellent colleagues.

Marlene married Tom Redman on June 29, 1963, at St. John Catholic Church in Princeton. A reception followed at the Bel-Aire Club in Green Lake, where they celebrated with 275 guests. After moving to Sun Prairie, Marlene and Tom raised two children and became members of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church.

A talented cook and baker, Marlene loved bringing family, friends, and neighbors together for celebrations. Her baked treats—especially her elephant ear pastries—were always a favorite.

She also enjoyed day trips with Tom, reading, gardening, cooking, working on puzzles, and watching the birds in her backyard. Marlene and Tom treasured the many good times they shared with their dear long time neighborhood friends. Above all, Marlene cherished time with her children.

Marlene is survived by her children, Tim (Tracy) Redman and Barb Redman of Sun Prairie, as well as her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 2006; her brothers, Lyle, Ronald, David, Duane, and Gary; and many friends.

The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff of Oakwood Village and Agrace Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Marlene.

The family will gather privately to celebrate Marlene’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Agrace are appreciated.

Mom, thank you for your love, warm hugs, wisdom, and guidance. They will remain with us forever.                  We love you!
