Waunakee

Mark Harvey Viksjo, age 70, died suddenly on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at his home in Waunakee. He was born on June 13, 1943 in Milwaukee to Claus and Laura (Kisker) Viksjo. He attended Milton College, Morehead St College and the UW at Madison. On September 13, 2002 he married the love of his life Lily Janeen Sumwalt following 25 years of courtship. Mark resided in Madison for 31 years and had resided in Waunakee the past three years. He retired from Madison Kipp Corp. after 31 years of employment and worked for JBM Protection and Patrol for nine years. He also worked as a substitute crossing guard for the schools. He loved music and playing his guitar and was a member of the Musicians Union. His favorite pastime was being with family and watching old time movies and reading.
Survivors include his wife Lily; four daughters; Shawn Jones, Regina Reeder, Heidi (Ed) Gehin, Tera Wilson; six grandchildren; Bryanna, Skyler, Zachary, McKayla (Mikey), Dakota, Karhma and 2 great-grandchildren; Kaylyn and Brynley. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Michael.
A Celebration of Mark's life will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Waunakee Village Center 333 S. Madison St. Waunakee from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
