Passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71. Mark is survived by his brothers Joseph of San Diego, CA, Michael (Pat), Paul (Debbie) of Pueblo, CO, and Ken (Deanna), brother-in-law of Gerry Blum, Joanne Nitka, Carol Nitka, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marion, sister, Virginia Blum, brothers, Patrick and John Nitka, niece, Angie Nitka, and sister-in-law, Nancy Nitka.
Special thanks to Teresa Blum, Mike Blum, and Scott MacNaughton for their loving care and support of Mark and all of those who visited him and shared time with him. Special thanks to the 8th floor staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their care and compassion over the last several weeks.
Mark was a quiet guy who loved watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and had a passion for music.
Funeral services, Friday, January 30th at Cress Funeral & Cremation Services 3610 Speedway Road at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Private Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society appreciated.
