Mark Jenks

BLUE MOUNDS: Mark Edward Jenks, age 63, of Blue Mounds passed away on November 14th at St. Mary's Hospital of an extended illness. He was born in Madison on March 3, 1954, the son of Bernard Lee and Harriet Lorraine (Lewis) Jenks. He was a graduate of Monona Grove High School and Madison Area Technical College. He loved his family and friends; genealogy, God, comic books, his church, Freemasonry and Ham Radio. Mark was a dreamer and was always able to find the good in people. He always strove to build a pure and unselfish heart.

He was united in marriage to April (Pulfer) Jenks on October 10, 1980 in Manti, Utah and had 5 children, James Jenks (Reneé), Troy Jenks (Claire), Steven Jenks, Ana Delfosse-Jenks (Jordan) and Amber Delfosse.

Mark served as presiding officer of Madison's Hiram Lodge No. 50 F&AM in 2000, 2002, 2010 and 2015, and Dodgeville Lodge No. 119 F&AM in 2111 and 2112. He also served as presiding officer of Madison Chapter No. 4 Royal Arch Masons in 2003 and 2013 and Madison Counsel of Royal and Select Masters during the same years. He served as Vice President of AFSCME Local 60 from 1995 to 2000, and Volunteer Examiner Coordinator for licensing amateur radio operators in Madison from 1991 to 2000, as well as Chaplin of Nathanial Ames Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1979 and has held many positions there, but none that he loved more than teaching the children of the Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Keith, and father-in-law Robert Pulfer. He is survived by his wife April, mother-in-law Esther, siblings Louise Malinowski (Mark), Robert and David (Dena). He is also survived by his children, James, Troy, Steven, Ana, and Amber; and grandchildren Logan and Ororo Delfosse.

The funeral will be held on Monday, November 20th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 701 Bear Claw Way in Madison. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30. The Masonic funeral service will be from 10:30 - 11:00. The LDS ceremony will be from 11:00 - 12:00.

His last words would be: "We are all children of a loving Heavenly Father: from the youngest child to the oldest person: from the smartest genius to the most challenged of us; everyone deserves respect and love."
