In Loving Memory
SUN PRAIRIE-Marion Helen Sage, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She was born on July 2, 1931, in Forest, WI, daughter to Walter and Selma (Gerber) Voeltz. She grew up in Forest on the family farm with her six brothers and sisters. Marion worked in St. Paul at a bank as a young woman with her sister Ethel. She later married Sol B. Sage who was in the Navy and they lived in LaMesa, Calif. In California, her two daughters, Leah and Karen, were born. After returning to Wisconsin in 1963, Marion worked at Nicolet Instruments for 35 years. She loved to travel, read, garden and play cards. She also loved hiking, biking, swimming, and following politics. Marion was also an avid sports fan; especially professional tennis, golf and football.
Marion is survived by her daughters, Leah (Brent) Sage Krause and Karen Sage; granddaughter, Taryn Krause and her fianc�, Rob McKinley; great-granddaughter, Aniya; sisters, Mabel (Bill) Hoffman, Geraldine Luepke, and Ethel Prange; brother, Floyd (Vonnie) Voeltz; sister-in-law, Iona Voeltz; and several nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her former husband, Sol; brothers, Robert and LeRoy Voeltz; and in-laws, Lois Voeltz, Dick Prange, Clarence Luepke and sister in law Marcheta Bixby and her husband Harlan Bixby.
Through out her life, Marion always was inquisitive, independent, loving and shared her Christian values with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at SUN PRAIRIE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 702 North St., Sun Prairie, at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, December 14, 2015, with Rev. Frank Gaylord and Rev. Jenny Arneson presiding. Visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terr., Sun Prairie, from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M., on Saturday, December 12, 2015, as well as from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Marion's dear friends who provided compassion and friendship throughout her life.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the American Family Children's Hospital.
