Marion Munz

MCFARLAND - Marion A. "Doc" Munz, age 78, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
Marion, known to his many friends as simply "Doc", was born in Iowa County, WI, September 4, 1934, the son of the late Peter and Frances (Clary) Munz. Doc graduated from Lone Rock High School. He grew up in Bear Valley and lived in Madison a few years, but was a McFarland resident most of his adult life. He worked for Interstate Periodical Distributors for 25 years and was the proprietor of the Horseshoe Bar & Grill in the 1970's. He was an avid boater who also enjoyed Rv'ing and golfing.
Doc is survived by his son Michael (Jean) Munz of Sturgeon Bay, and daughters Kristin (Jim ) Cuneo of Healdsburg, CA and Terri Gilden of New Glarus; grandchildren Jake (Beth), Casey, Lucas (Jennifer), Michael (Bretney), Jeffrey, Emile, Felicia (Brad), and Julianne; 5 great-grandchildren; brother William Munz of Rockford, IL, and sister Mary Jean (Harold) Gabrielson of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his son Daniel; three wives; brothers, John and Donald; and sisters Eileen Hanson and Rose Mary Breitzkreutz.
A gathering of famiy and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home, McFarland. Interment will follow at St. Kilians Cemetery in Bear Valley. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway Madison, WI 53711.
