Marilyn R. Robinson

b. February 26, 1931

Marilyn R. Robinson (Spencer), age 88, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019. She was born on February 26, 1931 in Milwaukee to Curtis and Virginia (Trepanier) Spencer.

Marilyn was raised in Oconto and was a graduate of Oconto High School. She went on to frequently travel, and even up until recently was even discussing plans to travel to India and travel on the Mississippi River. Her favorite place in Wisconsin was to Door County to enjoy the outdoors.

While she lived in Arizona, she devoted much of her time volunteering for the visually impaired, handicapped, and at the local hospital.
Marilyn enjoyed a good game of cards, crafting, and she had a passion for puzzles. Her puzzles can be seen in the halls of Kindred Hearts as framed pictures today. Marilyn was a lover of big band music, and her favorite orchestra was Wayne King.

Marilyn is survived by her siblings Jim Spencer, Sharon (Harry Brouillard) Bauer, Janice ""Jan"" (Bobby) Hoover, and Carol (Allen) Johnson; and brother-in-law Louis Prekop. She is further survived by her goddaughter Mary Jo Bodie; godson Thomas ""Tom"" Johnson; all her foster children especially Tony, Lynn, and Laura; and many other relatives and dear friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Melvin ""Mel""; her parents Curtis and Virginia; and sister Carmen Prekop.

Gathering will be from 10-12:00 PM (noon) on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53704. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM with Fr. Brian Dulli presiding. Marilyn will be brought to her final place of rest with her husband, Mel, at a private ceremony at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, AZ.
Marilyn will be dearly missed for her wonderful sense of humor and compassion for others.

The family wishes to thank the staff and residents at Kindred Hearts for all their care and compassion for Marilyn during her stay.
