Marilyn Murphy, age 90, of Madison/Waunakee, passed away on November 21, 2025, at Sienna Crest Assisted Living Center in Waunakee, WI. Marilyn was born on February 21, 1935, in La Crosse, WI the daughter of Albert and Dolores Love. She was the youngest of three children.
Marilyn was married on December 28, 1955, to Edward Murphy Jr. also of LaCrosse. She studied at UW LaCrosse, receiving an Associate Bachelor's degree. She worked many years as a realtor until she retired early to enjoy traveling with her husband, particularly enjoying trips to China and Germany. Throughout her retirement Marilyn worked with her husband, Ed to successfully build, remodel and sell homes in both Madison and in Florida.
She is survived by three children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, son Matthew, her parents, and her two brothers Albert and Ronald.
The family wants to give special thanks to the staff at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Waunakee, WI for the care she received during the last years of her life. The family is also grateful for the additional care Agrace Hospice provided to both Marilyn and her family during the last few months of her life.
A memorial service will be held at Cress Funeral Home on Friday April 24th at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Agrace Hospice, Madison, WI.
