Marie Guinea

Madison - Marie W. Guinea (nee Blanchard) was born in Chicago on June 12, 1924, to Earl and Marie (Stoll) Blanchard and was raised, along with her brother and sisters, in the Illinois Masonic Orphans Home in LaGrange, IL from l927-1938. She met and married Paul Guinea in 1945. She moved to Madison in 1960 and worked at, and retired from Madison Gas & Electric in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, sisters Earletta Biehl and Gertrude Barker, brother Fred and grandsons Myles McDuffee and Todd Guinea and son-in-law, Dave Starczynski.

She is survived by daughters Donna Ploc (Patrick), Diane Starczynski, Darleen McDuffee, sons Earl (Lois) and Paul (Lisa), grandchildren Jon Guinea, Patrick Ploc, Elizabeth Nordstrom, Paul Guinea, Jamie Maglior, Jennifer Waverling, Amy Haugh and Michael McDuffee and nine great grandchildren. Marie is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Family was everything to mom and she always said "life is too short to hold a grudge".

She will be sitting at the Wrigley Field in heaven cheering on her Cubs and listening to Frank Sinatra.

A special thanks to her ER team at UW Hospitals and to Alex and Pastor Bob in the TLC unit for their wonderful care.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with Memorial Service starting at 7:00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison with Pastor Sheryl L. Erickson of GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH presiding.
