Marian Ziegler

Marian C. Ziegler, age 96, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022.

She was born at home in the Town of Berry, on June 30, 1926, one of twelve children to Ferdinand and Elizabeth (Ripp) Maier.

In her younger years, Marian worked, and thoroughly enjoyed, her time at a Madison campus sorority house, as a cook and cleaner.

Marian met Alvin Ziegler at a dance. They later married on September 21, 1950 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Cross Plains. Alvin preceded her in death on May 7, 2012. Al and Marian farmed their entire life in Ashton. She loved music, she sang and played the guitar, piano, and accordion. She also enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

She is survived by her sister Hermina Ziegler and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alvin, and brothers, Adam “Eddie”, George, Nick, Art, Leonard, Werner, Herman, Alfred, Urban, and Harry.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11 AM at the Cress Center, 6021 University Avenue, Madison with Deacon Craig Wood officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Ashton, WI. A luncheon will follow at the Cress Center.
