Margery Riege

DEERFIELD - Margery Ann Riege, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. She was born on September 27, 1934 in Watertown, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edward and Frieda (Behling) Albrecht. On November 29, 1952 Margery married Berthold Riege, the love of her life, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. They spent nearly 62 years together, raising a family and farming. In 1959 Margery & Bert, with their young boys, moved to their new farm in Deerfield where they lived and worked hand in hand until their passing. Margery and Bert worked the family farm with sons Bob & Dan and the family farm continues to be worked to this day by Bob and grandsons Ryan & Seth.

Margery loved her family, her pets, cooking and working with her family on the farm. She enjoyed visiting with their many friends, neighbors and relatives and receiving her frequent phone calls from her niece Diane. She will truly be missed.

She is survived by her sons Bob (Kim) and Dan (Sandy), grandchildren Ryan (Hillary), Seth (Lindsay) and Lane (Sammi), Jessie (Luke), Michael and Allison (Kevin) and her great-grandchildren Carson, Brody and Kalli. She is also survived by her sister Joanne (Ron) Jakel, brother Larry Albrecht and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert, and sister in-law Elaine Albrecht.

A Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Pastor Arthur Faught, will be held on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at 12 Noon, at St Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Marshall, WI where Margery was a long time member. Friends and family may call from 11 am until time of service. A visitation will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 201 Bue Street, Deerfield on Tuesday December 1st from 5 - 7 pm. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service.

Burial at Kroghville Cemetery, Waterloo, WI to follow the luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St Paul Lutheran Church.
