On December 13, 2012 Margarett Ann McIntyre went home to glory surrounded by her children following a courageous health battle. Margarett was born on April 4, 1944 in Spartanburg, South Carolina and attended Steven Grove Elementary, Lincoln School and Clinton Jr. College in Rock Hills, SC. Margarett moved to Madison in 1964. Margarett worked as a tailor for Martin's Tailor Shop, St. Mary's and the Tie Tack Store. A lover of learning, she went to MATC for welding and worked at Dairy Equipment, then went on to IBA School of Cosmetology and worked at beauty salons until deciding to return to school for the Comprehensive Clerical Skills Training Program, which gave her the skills she needed to work at Webcrafter's where she was the South Plant receptionist for over 20 years, until retiring in 2010.
A faithful member of Capital City Sanctuary Church of God and Christ since 2006; she was the first member of the congregation and sat on the Mother Board, Hospitality and handled Public Relations.
Margarett also worked at Home Health United, Meals on Wheels and volunteered for the United Way. She was a loving foster mother to over 18 children.
Margarett is survived by her mother Corrie Talley, sisters Thelma Shelton, Carol Talley, Mary Kay Laurent, Etta Menretta-Meadows, a son, Jerlito Weathers, two daughters Yolanda Talley and Jeltreta Weathers-Tejeda, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Booker Thomas Talley, Sr. and brothers Booker Thomas Talley, Jr. and James Talley.
Her children would like friends and family to know that she enjoyed her final day, doing normal things, laughing and enjoyed dinner cooked by her daughter, Yolanda Talley.
