Margaret Rach

October 11, 1919 — March 29, 2016

Verona - Margaret E. Rach, age 96, of Verona passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital. Known as Marg, she was born in Richland Center, the daughter of F.X. and Mary "Winnie" (Schoonover) Walsh. She was married on June 1, 1946 to Cyril G. "Hap" Rach, Sr. Marg and Hap lived in Spring Green from 1946 to 1976 when they moved to Oregon WI. They were married for 45 years at the time of Hap's death. Marg was dedicated to her family, constantly learning new skills and hobbies, enjoying a game of 500, and working periodically outside the home as a food service worker at the Oregon Schools and as a clerk in the Oregon Pharmacy.

Survivors include her five children Frances M. "Fran" (Tom Hansen) Johnson of Madison; Cyril G. "Hap" (Pat) Rach, Jr. of Mount Horeb; Eulalia C. "Lalia" (Jan Hatleberg) Rach of Madison, John X. (Rosa) Rach of Odenton, MD; and Margaret E. "Margo" (Bob) Wood of Oregon, WI. and her grandchildren Maggie Wood of Las Vegas and Sam Wood of Milwaukee, and step-grandchildren Melissa (Nick) Schultz of Mount Horeb and Billy Skinrud of Mount Horeb and Kelly (Matt) Deschler of Racine and Brian Hansen of Racine; numerous step-great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Jean Walsh of Richland Center; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, F.X. and Winnie Walsh; her husband, Cyril G. "Hap" Rach, Sr.; seven siblings, Rose Patterson Davis, Gregory M. Walsh, Mildred F. Goodman, Catherine W. Albrecht, Frances Mary Stormont, Eugene A. Walsh and Bernard O. Walsh; and a nephew, Steve Walsh, preceded her in death.

Father William Vernon officiated a private funeral rite service on Thursday, March 31 at the Cress Funeral Home followed by a rite of committal and internment in the family plot in the Richland Center Catholic cemetery with Monsignor Roger Scheckel presiding.
