Margaret Laufenberg

WAUNAKEE-Margaret Loretta Laufenberg, age 101, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. She was born on September 14, 1913, in Dane to Chris and Julia (Endres) Koch. She married Theodore Laufenberg on Oct. 22, 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was employed by the K-Mart Corp. for 22 years until retiring in 1983. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Middleton and the Christian Mothers Society and was very active in both. She enjoyed playing cards with numerous card groups over the years, loved to crochet pot holders, and baked the best chocolate chip cookies ever!

Survivors include Margaret's children, Loretta (Joe) Kalscheur, Marion (Delmer) Hellenbrand, Dorothy (David) Statz, Henry (Shirley C.), Margaret (Ken) Bernards, Alice (Dick) Weiss, and Ron (Jean), all of Waunakee; 32 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and 1 great-great-granddaughter; daughter-in-law, Shirley A.; sister, Julie Ann; and her brothers, Albert and Chris.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2015 Parmenter St. in Middleton. Msgr. Douglas Dushack will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 County Road Q, Waunakee. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Waunakee. "Mom, thank you for teaching us the values of life. You will be in our hearts and Angel on our shoulder. With you guiding us, we all will be fine." Love, your family.
