Margaret Koenig

Stoughton- Margaret H Koenig, age 79, passed away on Saturday April 6, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Watertown on July 26, 1933 the daughter of Theodore and Gretchen (Ohm) Nevermann. Margaret graduated from Watertown High School in 1951 and went on to Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing. On December 17, 1955 she married William Koenig. Together they moved to Stoughton where they raised their family. Margaret worked as a Registered Nurse for Stoughton Hospital for over 30 years. She was an avid golfer and long time member of the Stoughton Country Club. Margaret enjoyed playing Bridge with friends in multiple card clubs. She devoted her life to God and was a loyal member and steward of Covenant Lutheran Church where she served as Council President and on numerous committees. Margaret is survived by her son Bill Jr. of Stoughton; daughters, Beth (David) Natter of Milton and Kristen (Mark Clayton) Holzhuter of Stoughton, three grandchildren, Erik Holzhuter and Gretchen and A.J. Natter; and her beloved canine companion, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; and four brothers, Frederick, Edward, Paul and Theodore. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Van Buren Street, Stoughton, with Rev. Mark Petersen officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following the services, in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery South. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday at church. Memorials may be made to Covenant Lutheran Church.
