Marcia Mccaughey

Marcia E. McCaughey, age 74, passed away in her home in Madison, Wisconsin on Tuesday October 27, 2015. She was born in Quincy, Illinois on September 25, 1941 to Raymond and Vera (Frageman) McCaughey. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Kory McCaughey.

Ms. McCaughey pursued a career in nursing. She became a Sister in the Hospital Sisters of the 3rd Order of Francis in 1960, serving for seven years; which led her to earn her Registered Nursing diploma from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria, Ill. Furthermore, she received her undergraduate and Master's degrees from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Ms. McCaughey held numerous high level executive leadership nursing positions in Chicago, Cincinnati, and Madison. Her most recent position was with HospiceCare, Inc.

She is survived by brothers, Terence of Quincy, IL, David (Kay) of Peoria, AZ, and Dennis (Mary) McCaughey of Hot Springs Village, AR; 1 niece, Kellie (Steve) Dye of Ogden, Utah; 3 nephews, Kevin McCaughey of Scottsdale, AZ, Ryan (Michele) of Peoria, AZ, and Eric (Jennifer) McCaughey of Quincy, IL; 4 great nephews and 3 great nieces. Marcia is also survived by numerous close and loving friends who assisted in her care in the final months of her life. Family and friends appreciate the wonderful comfort care provided by Agrace Hospice and by "Marcia's Angels."

Marcia was constantly inspiring those around her to be the best they could be. She was fully engaged in life and inclusive of all. She was famous for her humor, quick wit and infectious laugh ("Where is the organizational chart").

A memorial service will be held at NOON on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Holy Wisdom Monastery, 4200 County Highway M, Middleton, WI 53562. Family may be greeted at Holy Wisdom Monastery at 11 a.m. until the time of service. Dress attire is casual. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
