Marcelline M. (Wiest) Schoepp, 87, of Waunakee/Westport died peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Marcy was born in the Township of Perry on May 18, 1936 to Raymond and Marcella (Haag) Wiest. Marcy grew up on the family farm, oldest of 8 siblings. She graduated 8th grade from Spring Valley Grade School in a class of 3 pupils. She graduated from Mt. Horeb High School in 1954.
Marcy was united in marriage to Donald Schoepp on September 24, 1957. Marcy and Don raised their two children, Mark and Janet in Westport Wisconsin.
Marcy worked for the State of Wisconsin DNR, University of Wisconsin Hospital Departments of Otolaryngology and Ophthalmology, Drs. Iams and Weatherhog Pediatricians. Marcy volunteered and worked for St. Mary of the Lake Church and Montessori School. She also worked for Olds Seed Company, State of Wisconsin School of Agriculture and retired from the University of Wisconsin Vice Chancellor’s Office heading Departments of Academic Services and University Outreach.
Marcy loved quilting and has donated and shared many of her beautiful quilts. Over the years Marcy and Don enjoyed traveling and camping with their family. They spent many summers with friends and family at their cabin on Smith Lake in Hayward, Wisconsin.
Marcy is survived by son, Mark (Lori) Schoepp; grandchildren, Megan (Carl) Werner, Brady (Nicole) Schoepp, Lexi Pfeil, Dakota Pfeil, great grandchildren, Everett Werner, Bryson and Koa Pfeil, and brother-in-law, Ed Sutter.
Siblings - Janice Gladem, Jerry (Ann) Wiest, Venita (John) Cleary, Darlene (Dennis) Cleary, Jean (Mike) Ryan, Linda Seaquist and Kathy (Terry) Kurth. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Fred and Helen Schoepp, husband Donald, daughter Janet Pfeil and son-in-law Ron Pfeil, sister Valeria, brothers-in-law Kendall Gladem and Fred Schoepp Jr., Joe Helt and Don Ballantine, sisters-in-law, Doris Helt, Jeanette Ballantine and Joan Schoepp .
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mary of the Lake Catholic Church 5460 Mary Lake Rd Westport. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
