Marcella Marks

DANE-Marcella S. (Hellenbrand) Marks, age 92, of Dane, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2015 at the Waunakee Manor with her family by her side.
She was born September 21, 1922 to Clemens and Laura (Wipperfurth) Hellenbrand in Ashton. She was united in marriage to Harley C. Marks on July 13, 1942 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Madison, WI.
Marcella was employed for several years at Webcrafters in Madison and later worked at Jacobson's Grocery Store in Dane. She was a member of the Dane American Legion Auxiliary for 55 years. She was one of the oldest members of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dane. She was very strong in her faith.
Whenever you went to visit Marcy, she always had homemade goodies, especially peanut butter cookies. She enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, crocheting and making an afghan for each of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, bingo, and doing crossword puzzles.
Marcella is survived by 3 sons: Ray (Judy) of Columbus, Harley "Bugsy"(Carol) of DeForest, and Bob(Kris) of Dane; 2 daughters: Sue(Russ) Malisch of Lodi and Patty(Mike) Hewitt of Dane; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by her siblings: 3 sisters: Rita Heimbecker, Rosalia(Charlie) Ruhland, and Mary Seiler; 1 brother: Vincent(Betty) Hellenbrand; brother-in-law: Pat Wagner; and sisters-in-law: Rosie Hellenbrand and Cyrilla Wipperfurth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley, in 1982; son, Kenny; granddaughters: Anna Marks and Nicole Marks; siblings: Bernie (Albert) Endres, Sylvester (Violet), Albert(Pope), Frances Wagner, Rosetta Taylor, and Edwin; In-laws: Edward Seiler and William Heimbecker.
Funeral services will be held on Tues. Feb 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish, St Michael Church, Dane. Rev Chad Droessler will officiate. Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q Waunakee. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Ringdahl and Ms. Gail Gaustad and the wonderful and caring staff at the Waunakee Manor for their exceptional care given to Marcella over the past 2 years.
