Cottage Grove

Maia Kara Wroblewski Stitt age 42 of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin died on October 8, 2025. Maia led a remarkable life while facing a lifelong rare and complex condition. She was surrounded by the love of her family and now is at peace, free from medical treatments and pain.

Born on May 17, 1983, she was a bright light who possessed a fierce and independent spirit. She was known for her creativity, passion for life, caring for others and her coordination skills. As a teenager, Maia was an advocate for other young adults with disabilities, traveling to Washington D.C. to influence policy decisions. She completed her Master of Science Biotechnology degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, in 2010. She dedicated her work, and much of her life, to assisting people in clinical trials, as well as programs for children and adults with disabilities. She passionately pursued her interests, which included graphic arts, journaling and dogs, in particular her favorite, labradors. Fall was her favorite time of the year, she loved its colors, weather and coziness.

Maia married her soul mate and true love, Jim Stitt on October 22, 2011. They met in Houghton, MI while in college for a ski weekend, even though neither one of them ski. They enjoyed traveling together, spending days on sandy beaches, trying fun foods, and had a special love for Devil’s Lake and the beaches of Holland, Michigan. They were very happy together.

Maia will be remembered for her vibrant personality and intelligence. She made many beautiful memories with her friends and family. More than anything, Maia loved her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Stitt, mother, Beth Wroblewski, her sister Sonja Wroblewski, her grandmother, Sarah Seegers, dearest friend Natalie Kahn and the Stitt family who loved her as one of their own. She will also be deeply missed by her Aunts Ellen, Jayne and Melinda, Uncle Mark, many cousins and extended family, and friends who she loved as family. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Wroblewski, Grandparents Patricia and Edward Wroblewski, and Eugene Seegers, and Uncle Jon Wroblewski. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of Maia’s life will be held at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison on Sunday October 19, 2025 between 10 am and 1 pm with an Eastern Star Service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maia’s honor to the charitable organization of your choice.
