Mae Lillian Mitchell
Satisfied with her 98-year life, Mae Lillian Mitchell said, "Don't feel bad. I don't," before she died Monday April 22, 2013
Mae was born in Detroit Michigan February 18, 1915. She was one of six sisters raised in a crowded house. They remained close throughout the years. When the last of those sisters died last December, Mae's will to live died too.
Her marriage to Jack B. Mitchell in 1938 was unusually happy and probably contributed to the longevity of both. He also died at age 98, after more than 70 years together.
They had two sons, Jack W. of Madison and Timothy, now of Reno Nevada. Daughters-in-laws, Bonnie and Jeanette, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren also survive her.
Mae's family will remember her at 4:30 Thursday, April 25, in the chapel at the Sebring Assisted Living Center, her home for the past three months. She lived for more than a decade at the adjacent Coventry Senior Apartments.
The family thanks the Sebring and Agrace Hospice staff for their support in her final months.
