Madison - Madeline D. Chambers, age 96, passed away peacefully at All Saints Assisted Living Center on January 6, 2013. Madeline was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 11, 1916 to parents: Charles and Mabel (Hankinson) Palumbo. On August 31, 1940 she married Charles J. Chambers. Madeline is a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church of Madison. After graduating from St. Andrews Business College, Madeline worked at Cuneo Printing until the birth of her first daughter. In later years Madeline was employed by the D.E.A. After their retirement, Madeline and Charles moved to Wellington, FL. to be near their youngest daughter and grandchildren. In 2004, Madeline moved to All Saints Retirement Center in Madison to be closer to her oldest daughter and family. Madeline enjoyed all of the many activities at All Saints and visiting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In July of 2011, Madeline moved to All Saints Assisted Care, where she continued to enjoy all the activities and visits from family and friends.
Madeline was preceded in death by her husband Charles; parents, and her brothers: Lou, Ed, and Vince Palumbo.
Madeline is survived by her daughter's Carolyn (Ronald) Schultz, Mary M. Lampe, and Madeline (Michael) Sabatello. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stacey Schultz-Cherry (Kyle), Kim Ripp (Peter), Scott Schultz (Michelle), James Lampe (Theresa), Kristen Lampe, Lisa Schoenewald, Kevin Schoenewald, Brittany Schoenwald, and 10 great grandchildren, Sister Marie and Sister-in-law Mary. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff at All Saints Assisted Living and Agrace HospiceCare for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM with Memorial Service at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison with Father Chad Droessler of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church presiding. Madeline will be laid to rest next to her husband at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, in West Palm Beach, FL.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made out to; All Saints Assisted Care Staff Appreciation Fund, Agrace HospiceCare Inc, and St. Judes Childrens Hospital Memphis, TN.
