Lynn Zielke

Sun Prairie - Lynn R. Zielke, age 88, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Willowbrook Nursing & Rehabilitation in Lake Mills. He was born on April 28, 1927 in Granton, Wisconsin the son of Otto and Ella (Lueder) Zielke. Lynn served in the Air Force as aircraft mechanic retiring after 20 years in 1969. During his time in the Air Force he met Louise and they were married on June 21, 1958. Lynn worked as a clerk for the Madison Post Office retiring in 1989. Following his retirement he volunteered by delivering meals-on-wheels, driving veterans to doctor appointments and helping out at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Zielke; a son, Mark Zielke; daughter, Karen Hansen, grandchildren, Tristan, Alta, Trevor, Andrew and Kiersten; a great granddaughter, Karis; brother, Ray (Irngard) Zielke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Donna, granddaughter, Jenna, 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie, on Friday, October 23, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Timothy Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
