Mosher, Lynette "Rusty"
Madison: Lynette "Rusty" Mosher, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 17th, at UW Hospital, after a courageous battle with an unexpected aggressive illness.
She was born on December 14, 1945 in England. Her father was an American GI and her mother was an English war bride. They moved to the states when she was a toddler and settled in a small town outside Chicago. She had a wonderful childhood with her sister, Michelle.
In her adult life, she raised her family in Madison. She spent much of her time volunteering when her kids were young. After her retirement from Foley & Lardner LLP as a legal secretary, she worked for Kegonsa Capital Partners and then for a small law firm before she become ill.
In 1996, she met Dave. He was a wonderful husband to her and they just celebrated their 20 year wedding anniversary. She was the sweetest wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend anybody could ever hope for. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She was the most selfless person we have ever known. She loved gardening and always looked forward to the spring so she could plant her flowers. She loved being with her girlfriends for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and art fairs. She was like a second mom to her grandchildren and attended all of their sporting events and school activities. She was an excellent cook and always an amazing hostess for dinner parties with her friends and family holidays. We cannot put into words how much she will be missed by all of us.
The family would like to thank the UW Hospital Critical Care and Oncology departments for their kindness and support during this difficult time.
She is survived by her husband, Dave, her daughter, Kimberly (Ingmar) Nelson, son Corey Tate, sister Michelle (Rick) Haugen of Colorado, stepdaughter Jennifer (Jeff) Ruedebusch, grandchildren Blake, Chace, Kayla, and Kaden, and countless friends who were like family to her.
Rusty did not want a sad funeral service and she didn't want it to be called a Celebration of Life. So, a "Rustybration" will be held in the banquet room at Babe's, 5613 Schroeder Road in Madison this Thursday, May 25th starting at 5:30pm. All are welcome. Dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the family. Please share a memory.
