Lyle F. Chritton, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. He was born in Stoughton on August 4, 1920, a son of William Emmett and Gertrude (Williamson) Chritton, Sr. Lyle graduated from Stoughton High School in 1938, and served his country in the Army Air Corps in England during WWII. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Arneson at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton on April 3, 1946. Lyle worked as a supervisor in the maintenance department of Oscar Mayer for 35 years. Lyle learned how to build houses from a carpenter while in high school, and he loved to use his hands and build things. Family always came first for Lyle. He and his wife, Mary Ann enjoyed visiting Lake Camelot together for 30 years. He taught his boys how to use tools and build things, and his daughters-in-law kept him busy with projects. Lyle is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; 3 sons, James (Mollie), David (Evy) and Gerald (Nicki) Chritton; grandson, Cole Lyle Chritton, with whom he shared a special bond; grandchildren, Valerie, Chad, Erin, Scott, and Andrew Chritton; and a brother, William Emmett Chritton, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charlie (Jean), and Rodney L. (Irene); and grandson, Ryan James Chritton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July, 23, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, where the family will greet friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial and military rites will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. -We will miss you Dad.-
