Lucy A. Heyroth, age 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 29th, 2014, of heart failure.
She was born June 15, 1937, in Waunakee, to Peter and Seraphine (Meinholz) Ziegler. On May 24, 1955, she married Donald Heyroth. They lived on a small farm outside of Dane until they moved to Waunakee in 2005. Lucy's greatest love was her children, grand-children, and great grand-children. Mom always cared for her family with great love and affection. She had a heart of gold and always put others before herself. In addition to her focus on family, Lucy worked for a few years at the Waunakee Manor and as a hostess and waitress at the Dorf Haus for many years. She was also a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waunakee.
Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Don; eight children, David (friend, Linda Johnson), Bob (Candy), Jean (Jim) Gallagher, Joan (fiance, Todd Hahn), June (Brad) Gibson, Tom (Tracy), Tim (Rita), and Jennifer (Jeff) Maier; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Joe Ziegler, Tina Lorge, Margie (Vic) Piffl, Agnes (Ken) Endres; brothers-in-law, Mel Herbrand, Roger Heyroth; and sister-in-law Maxine (Gene) Rose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Don's parents; daughter-in-law Lisa Heyroth; siblings, Bud (Arlene) Ziegler, Mary Ziegler, Casey Herbrand, Rose (Art) Kalscheur, Peter Ziegler, Sera (Don) Statz; brother- in-law Gerald Lorge; and sisters-in-law Ruth Ziegler and Charlotte Heyroth.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee, WI, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Monsignor James Gunn presiding. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 County Hwy Q, Waunakee, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
