Madison: Lucille E. Oakey, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. The daughter of Stephen and Caroline (Taylor) McNelly, she was born April 11, 1921, in Lancaster, WI. She graduated from Madison West High School and attended the University of Wisconsin, studying music. Lucille was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she shared her musical talents in the choir, which she dearly loved. She enjoyed playing the piano, and she volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed golf, a game she learned from her husband. Lucille is survived by her children; Stephen (Kim) Oakey of San Diego, CA, John (Alice) Oakey of Madison, and Jane (Jerry) Chambers of Annapolis, MD, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, and a daughter, Carol Van Horn. A Memorial Service was held at Westminster Presbyterian Church and burial took place in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Segoe Gardens Assisted Living, Agrace HospiceCare Inc., or Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lucille's name.
