Louise M. Rusch Obituary

Louise Margaret Rusch, 104, died on October 12, 2016. She was born in Palmyra, Wisconsin on July 4, 1912 to Margaret Miller and William Carlin Turner. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing in 1933. She worked at The University Hospital for five years and then went to Beloit College, Beloit, Wisconsin as their nurse. Louise married Donald R. Van Wart of Beloit, WI in June of 1940. They were very active in the Beloit community for almost forty years where they also raised their three children. After the death of Donald she married Dr. Harold P. Rusch of Madison, WI.. She resided in The Village of Shorewood Hills and Madison for the rest of her life.

Louise is survived by her three children: Virginia Francis of Middleton, WI, Donald Van Wart (Linda) of West Linn, OR and Lise Pollock (Dan) of Decatur, IL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Ethan Francis (Maria) Betera, Spain, Natalia Francis (Kostas) Chania, Greece, Genevieve Francis (Fernando) Barcelona, Spain, Donald "Van" Van Wart (Jen) Janesville, WI, Tara Chandlee (Mich) Aurora, OR, Justin Van Wart (Ashley) Crestone, CO, Adam Schulz (Melissa) Decatur, IL, Elliot Schulz (Elise) Chicago, IL, and step grandson John Pollock, Effingham, IL

In addition 17 great grandchildren survive her: Jordi and Jules Francis; Nikolas and Nathaniel Pnevmatikatos Francis; Emma and Clara Miranda Francis; Jake, Austin and Paige Van Wart; Chiara, Evan, Aidan, Liam, Julian, Rowan and Sasha Chandlee; and Graham Schulz.

Louise is further survived by step daughter Carolyn Rusch Schlotthauer (George), her children Kristina Iavarone and William (Christina) Schlotthauer and grandchildren Rocco and Eve Iavarone, and Hailey, Grace and Blake Schlotthauer.

Louise is predeceased by her husband Donald R. Van Wart and her husband Harold P. Rusch, her sister Emma C. Masterson, her son-in-law George H. Francis and grandson Jules Francis.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on October 19 in Madison followed by a private family burial in Beloit, WI.
