Lorraine G. Salava, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Brookdale Middleton Stonefield, after many years battling with dementia in the presence of her husband, Robert Salava, and her caretaker, Theresa.

Lorraine graduated from Tully High School in Chicago, Illinois. She married Bob, the love of her life, on June 13, 1970, in Rockford, Illinois. Lorraine worked at Cuna Mutual Insurance Company in Madison, Wisconsin for 25 years as an Insurance Adjuster, retiring in June of 1993.

Bob and Lorraine moved to Scottsdale Arizona after Bob retired in 1994 where they were residents for several years. Bob and Lorraine shared a true love that most can only hope for. They were very close and enjoyed doing everything together. A neighbor in Arizona used to say they were attached at the hip because you rarely saw one without the other. Bob and Lorraine worked for the California Angels Major League Baseball Team during spring training. Lorraine worked in the ticket office for 20 years until she got dementia. They were season ticket holders to the Arizona State and University of Wisconsin basketball games. Lorraine enjoyed reading, dancing, music, cross-country skiing, and spending time with her family. She also liked bowling, playing table blackjack and biking. She was a real trooper on bike rides. Twice she did a century ride (100 miles per day). Bob and Lorraine returned to their home in Wisconsin after she got dementia.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 52 years and her five daughters who she thought the world of, Kathleen Kruger, Sandra (Steve) Jacobson, Diane (Steve Nibbe) Raemisch, Joyce Bestor, Angela (Mike) Ihde; stepchildren, Cindy (EJ) Weinberger, and Tim (Sandi) Salava. Also surviving are grandchildren, Devon (Drew) Holder, Janelle (Brad) Clemens, Kendra (Ben) Johnson, Mary Ann Raemisch, Eric (Carmen) Jacobson, Sara Jacobson, and Valerie (Luke) Short; step-grandchildren, Sara Salava, Katie (Melvin) Forseth, Brandon and Derek (Jessica) Weinberger; great-grandchildren, Shane Johnson, Seth Johnson, Sullivan Johnson, Mackenzie Clemens, Luke Jacobson and Gavin Jacobson; step-great-grandchildren, Knox and Oaklee Forseth, and Nora and Scarlett Weinberger. She was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Hartman, sister Carol Glenn and brother Fred Hartman.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Cress Center, 6021 University Avenue, Madison. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
