Loraine Feiner

May 10, 1935 — June 20, 2025

Sun Prairie

SPRING GREEN, SUN PRAIRIE and DeFOREST — On Friday, June 20, 2025, Loraine Feiner reunited in heaven with her dear husband, Cyril Feiner. She passed away peacefully at Riverwood Senior Living in Wisconsin Dells.

Family and faith were always central themes in Loraine’s life. She was born Loraine Radel to Roy and Stella on May 10, 1935, in the rolling hills of Wilson Creek (Spring Green). There, she enjoyed playing outside with her sisters and visiting the other farming families nearby, namely the Feiner family next door.

On June 26, 1954, Cyril and Loraine were married and began their life farming and raising four children. In 1961, they made the decision to pull up their stakes and head for a new adventure. They settled into their new “city life” in Sun Prairie. Loraine had many jobs and hobbies over the next few decades. She was always helping at Sacred Hearts Church as well as working at both Herreman’s Supper Club and the General Casualty cafeteria.

By 1990, Cy and Loraine had decided to move a few miles north to DeForest. There, they spent their golden years on a beautiful farm on Highway V. Loraine was an avid gardener, picking fresh vegetables for many of their meals. She enjoyed the morning word jumble and typically had a good joke or two for you (especially the one about skin care). One tradition that her immediate family will always hold dear were the Christmas Eve’s spent out at the farm. The entire family would join together celebrating the birth of our Lord. Loraine would get a kick out of the annual gag gift. She was known to gift socks a time or two, which led to many laughs. She always made a birthday cake for Jesus, accompanied by all the grandchildren singing “Happy Birthday, Jesus.”

As her twelve grandchildren grew, there were many sporting events and concerts to attend. She enjoyed them all so much. Even after the grandchildren were grown, she continued to watch Brewers baseball every chance she could. She and Cy, along with Bill and Eloise Nicholson, spent as much time together as they could. Whether it was camping, biking or fishing, there would always be a good story to tell and plenty of jokes. Loraine will always be remembered for her friendship, kindness and smile.

Loraine is survived by her children Scott (Beth) Feiner, Patricia (Rick) Snyder, Margaret (Ray) Simmons and Greg (Jane) Feiner; grandchildren Kimberly (Jeff) Ireland, Kasey (Jessica), Korey (Stephanie), Kodey (Lauren) and Kevyn (Liliana) Feiner, Eric (Heather) Snyder, Erin (Adam) Frydenlund, Emily (Nathan) Bartling, Nicole Simmons, Kaela (Dan) Hinrichs, Adam (Emily) Feiner, Alex Feiner; great-grandchildren Ella, Jack, Jett, Cooper, Kellen, Reece, Xavier, Vincent, Howell, Kruz, Serena, Carter, Dylan, Drew, Kaylie, Kiah, Kinsley, Liam, Aiden, Teddy, Arthur, Lukas and a baby girl due in August.

Loraine is survived by her sister, best friend and confidant, Eloise Nicholson. She is further survived by Liz Radel, Pauline Feiner, Gerry Frank and Delmar Feiner. She was preceded in death by her dear Cyril, her parents Roy and Stella Radel and siblings Lloyd Radel, Avalyn Stark, Elaine Schaefer, Joyce Howard, Juan Johnson, Marlyn Radel, Duane Radel and brother-in-law Bill Nicholson.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 221 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie, with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Sacred Hearts Endowment Fund.
