Lois A. Short

McFarland - Lois Short, age 86, passed away on October 2, 2023.

She was born on April 28, 1937 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Viola and Dan H. Williams. She

grew up in Ridgeway and attended Ridgeway Schools and the University of Platteville.

Afterwards, she taught school in Dane County. She married in 1958 and moved to Cedar

Rapids, Iowa where her four children were born. She moved to McFarland, Wisconsin in 1966

where she taught piano for many years and added one more child to the family.

She worked for Telephone Answering Service and Atlas Van Lines, then moved to Ridgeway

and worked for Lands End in Dodgeville.

Lois loved playing bridge and was a Life Master with the Madison Bridge Club. Lois also loved

making quilts.

She is survived by her five children Cindy Zacharias, Jay (Peg) Short, Scott Short, Kari (Brian)

Callaway, Tina (Noel) Anderson, and eight grandchildren, Taylor, Kolton, and Ambrea Zacharias,

Jessica (Zachary) Harteau, Bill and Breanna Callaway, Brandon McKeown and Kristi (Damon)

Erickson, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Daniel and her parents.

Visitation will be at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 5801 Hwy 51, McFarland on Saturday October 14, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 PM.

Burial will be at a later date at Eastside Cemetery in Ridgeway.
