Madison - Lloyd Bork passed away on Friday, March 16th at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Lloyd was born on April 13, 1919 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Joseph Bork and the former Edith Jones. Lloyd grew up in Janesville with his brother, Leslie Bork, and sisters, Lucille Duncan, and Shirley Rappold, all now deceased. He married Imogene (Jene) Westrick, his wife of 65 years, who passed away in 2006. Lloyd earned a purple heart and bronze star for his valiant service during World War II. After the war he worked for the Janesville Post Office and retired from there in 1976. He and Jene raised three children, Brian Bork (Chris Wild) of Sydney, Australia, Connie (Ernst) Wiegeshaus of Madison, Wisconsin and Dean (Christie) Bork of Blacksburg, Virginia. Lloyd was a founding and active member of the Grace Bible Church in Beloit. In retirement he and Jene enjoyed travelling all across the US in their motorhome, as well as visiting with their grandchildren, Gregory Bork and Jessica Bork in Australia, and Summer Bork in Virginia.
Lloyd's family treasured him as a devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather. Friends and many who crossed his path were warmed by his deep faith and generosity, his love of learning, and his trademark humor. He will always be in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Ernst and Connie Wiegeshaus on Saturday, March 24, at 4:00 p. m. to honor Lloyd's wonderful time on earth.
