Linda Hanson

Stoughton- Linda Rae Hanson, age 71, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

She was born on September 29, 1950 to Ray and Norma Bothum.  Linda grew up farming in Stoughton and Edgerton.  She was proud of her Norwegian Heritage.  Linda graduated from Edgerton High School in 1968.  On October 21, 1972 she married John Hanson.

Linda worked as a CNA at Skaalen Nursing Home and UW Hospital.  She was a lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church.  Linda enjoyed watching The Young and the Restless, family picnics and camping trips, Sunday family dinners and Christmas gatherings.  She was a warm, soft, comforting energy, and her presence was a gift.  Linda was loved by many.  She poured out her love to all, and to her grandchildren without measure.  They would spend lots of time together.  Overnights at grandma's were a regular thing.  Linda loved making banana bread and was always ready to share. The grandkids love to bake, play cards, go to the park, and just spend time with her.

Linda is survived by her three devoted children, Christine, Carla (Sarah), and Eric (Anne) Hanson; beloved grandchildren, Navy Jones, Nolin Jones , Elsa Jones, Elina Jones and Rhea Hanson; siblings, Ron (Debbie) Bothum, Mary (Bob) Goggin and John (Sara) Bothum; many cousins; nieces and nephews; and many close friends that she loved and adored.  She preceded in death by her parents; John Hanson: and sister, Kathy Bear.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 Highway B, Stoughton.  Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery South.  Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the burial, in the church fellowship hall.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services at church on Monday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
