“Mom” to many, devoted Wisconsin sports fan, and advocate for animals

Linda was born April 19, 1940, and passed away peacefully on Sunday June 8, 2025, after 85 years of loving generosity. She was an amazing person who made a lasting impact on many individuals and organizations.

Anyone who met her was brightened by her spirit and her constant helpful outreach. She was highly active and enjoyed morning walks with her coffee group, watching and attending sporting events, and taking numerous field trips to different locations around the state of Wisconsin. She was one of the first women to work for the State of Wisconsin as a computer programmer with the Department of Transportation and continued working many state agencies including the Education Communications Board where she retired in 1999.

As a mother, she raised two children, Michael John (preceded her in death at age 42) and Kevin Alan (Age 54 married to Cindy and living in Dallas, TX and Milwaukee, WI). Linda was also a “Mom” to many of Kevin and Michael’s friends throughout her lifetime.

As a sports fan, Linda closely followed the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers and cheered them on; win or lose, rain, snow, or shine. As an advocate for animals, Linda generously invested in numerous organizations including Operation Migration, Capital K9’s, UW School of Veterinary Medicine, Dane County Humane Society and the Henry Vilas Zoo. In lieu of flowers, we’d ask that you consider donating to one of these wonderful organizations.

Family and friends will celebrate Linda’s life at a private gathering this summer to honor her memory and reflect on her tremendous kindness and advocacy for others.

We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who passed before her. Her love and light will always shine brightly in our hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
