Waunakee/Lodi - Linda Lee Alred, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 26, 2013. She was born in Algona, Iowa on November 24, 1953, the daughter of Walter and Janice Klinker. She grew up in a variety of places and spent many years in Bethany, Missouri raising her children, then a short time in Bellevue, Nebraska, before settling in Waunakee with her husband Richard Hyatt in 1994. They were married in 1997 on an adventurous trip to Mardi Gras which became for many years an annual event.
Linda was an immensely generous, charismatic person who did everything in her power for anyone (or any critter) in need. She especially loved taking care of her cats and sewing. Almost everyone she knew had received a lovingly handmade personalized quilt from her. Once you were Linda's friend, you were a friend for life. She always had advice, an old saying or some silly little song when you needed to hear it.
Linda never stopped loving learning and seemed to know a little something about everything (including how to throw legendary parties). Together Linda and Rich could do almost anything from simply redecorating a room to building a house. Her creative talents had no boundaries.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Hyatt; a son, David Klinker; a daughter, Geneva Caraway (Steve Brandon); sisters, Lora Peters, LaNora (Dennis) Wilson, LuEllen (Mike) Dennsing, and LaVonne Klinker (Ken); brothers, Howard (Crystal) Walker, John Klinker, Mike Wooden; sisters-in-law, Diane (Jeff) Kuehn, Judy (Michael) Heinrichs, Jean (Don) Droster; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David L. and Kathy Hyatt, brother-in-law, David (Joan) Hyatt; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to numerous too mention. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Klinker and an infant daughter, Deanna Roxanne.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Springfield Inn from 11:00 to 4:00 to include tribute at 12:00 noon.
Linda was a wonderful woman with a beautiful soul and will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
