Lila Lee Beyler

September 20, 1919 — February 13, 2011

Madison -- Lila Lee Beyler, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2011 after many years of special care.   She was a resident at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Lodi for more than 7 years.   Before that, she spent time at MariAnne's Elder House in McFarland.   We thank these very special caretakers who helped Mom for so many years.   Lila was born in McHenry, Illinois on September 20, 1919, the daughter of Emil and Clara Wagner and attended  school in Illinois, later moving to Madison with her family.   She worked as a secretary to Oscar Meyer and met Chet (Charles) Beyler on a blind date.   They married on June 24, 1939 and their two children, Bonnie and Bud (Charles) were welcomed during the 40's.   She was a great Mom, who enjoyed her home, her children, golfing, and friends.   During those years she also helped her husband, Chet, in their popular restaurant businesses.   Many will remember -- The Pub, Frenchy's, and the Chanticleer.   They were all known for great food and, at the Chanticleer, patrons also enjoyed the Hal Mac band and dancing.   Lila helped with the restaurants but was mostly a stay-at-home mom.   Because Chet was a charter member of Nakoma Country Club and also lived across the street from the course, the family became very involved in golf and other club functions.   Lila was a good golfer, enjoyed outings with her friends, and being with her children.   Later, her friend, Mary Antoine, opened a popular boutique, ""Antoine's"" and Lila worked with her from the time it opened until it closed.    She belonged to Queen of Peace Church and the Elk's Club.   In 1989, Chet and Lila celebrated their 50th Anniversary with family and friends at the Elk's Club.   They had a wonderful, happy life until their later years.   In 1999 God called Chet to heaven after a serious illness.   Lila lived a good life up until her illness and had many wonderful friends.   Lila is survived by her children, Bonnie (Jim) Corcoran (Faust) of Lodi and ""Bud,"" Charles (Judy) Beyler of Oregon;  5 grandchildren, Scott Faust (Gigi)  Madison, Chad (Pam) Beyler Oregon, Craig (Dawn) Faust Muskego, Lisa Beyler Madison, and Brian (Laura) Faust Madison; and two step-grandchildren,   Tim Corcoran and Kelly (Todd)McNally of Oregon.   Lila did not have much opportunity to know her beautiful great-grandchildren, but she was blessed with 15 and another will arrive later this year.   Her great-grandchildren are, Kelsey, Jordon, and Catlin Beyler,   Max and Mia Faust, Nathan, Natalie and Nolan Faust,   Colette, Brynn, Aydin and Dominic Faust, Mikaila and Rebecca Corcoran and Nicholas Corcoran.   She is also survived by four nieces and nephews,   Peter (Peg) Reif, Jana (Bill) Knick, Mark Reif and Dana Reif.   Friends may greet the family from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25th at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road.   A mass of Christian burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison on Saturday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour before.   A lunch will be served after the mass.
